Book Week 2018
Book Week launched with a superb production of The Tempest performed by the Young Shakespeare Company for Key Stage 2 yesterday. Beautifully acted and well-staged, the children learned the story of Prospero, Miranda, Ariel and Caliban through a tremendously interactive and energetic performance. We will build on the performance through our learning in English this week - I hope that the children will become lifelong admirers of the Bard through this lovely experience.
Falcons have started their Learning Journey with a strong focus on the value for the term 'Hope'. The children developed an assembly based on what hope is and how we can show hope in the world today.
Have a look at our PowerPoint we prepared. We used quotes from Barack Obama as a base for the assembly as this is a theme he referred to frequently. It links to the biblical idea of hope which the children explored.
